Reconciliation Analyst (1 Position)

Job Purpose
The Reconciliation Analyst will be responsible for daily reconciliation of Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) accounts. The role ensures that all exceptions requiring refunds are resolved accurately and on time, in line with agreed SLAs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily reconciliation of mobile banking transactions and share reports with MNOs and MTOs.

Conduct TIPS account reconciliation and escalate issues promptly to relevant stakeholders (TIPS participants, BOT, FSPs) for quick resolution.

Process refunds through the Reversal Portal/Tool and prepare vouchers/entries for reversals, ensuring timely posting.

Monitor float accounts with MNOs and ensure balances remain within set limits.

Prepare memos/vouchers for replenishment of float accounts and airtime purchases, ensuring timely reflection in virtual accounts.

Engage vendors and utilities providers (e.g., TANESCO, ZECO, TV subscription services, Water Authorities) for reconciliation confirmations.

Prepare daily reconciliation status reports showing outstanding transactions and recommended actions.

Support the line manager in producing periodic and on-demand reports (RCC, KRI, monthly reconciliation reports).

Analyze mobile transaction trends to identify and escalate technical issues to the E-Banking/Omnichannel teams.

Coordinate with branches and Relationship Managers to resolve outstanding issues promptly.

Respond to queries from the Contact Centre and internal teams within agreed turnaround times.

Maintain audit trails for all reconciliation reports and reversal/refund transactions.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Strong understanding of retail banking processes, operations, and controls related to mobile banking.

Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.

Strong teamwork, time management, adaptability, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or related field.
-
At least 2 years’ experience in retail banking operations, with 1+ year in reconciliation duties.
